Anonymous asked: just to confirm, they said that 1mm is 1 liter of rainfall per square meter. and 1 inch is 25.4 mm. that make 25.4 liters per square meter. 25.4 liters is 6.7galons and not 5.62galons.
Note: Use UK or Imperial Gallons, NOT US Gallons
I used the constant 4.7UKgallons per square yard in 1 inch of rain from Soil Saturation books. Then from that, I converted sq yards to sq meters, and that’s how I got 5.62UKgallons/sq meter.
try that and youll get the same numbers.

here it is:
1 yard = 36in
1 square yard with 1in of rain = 1in x 36in x 36in = 1296 cubic in
1296in³ = 4.6716266UK gal ~ 4.7UK gallons
